SoundPEATS is known for its cool design, beautiful balanced sound and from today also for huge batteries in the charging boxes. Because you can use these earbuds (you read this right) for 100 hours without having to charge the charging case with a cable. Does that also have a downside? Yes! One specification stands out, of course. And those are the 3000 mAh of battery capacity in the charging case. 3000 mAh is a lot. Imagine that an average earbud has a case of about 500 mAh. Anyway, we are getting ahead of ourselves. Let's test the sound first.
Sound quality of the TrueShift2
Sound quality rating: 8
The sound almost all SoundPEATS earbuds above 40 euros is amazing. Not so much because there is a heavy bass in the earbuds, but much more because the mids come out so beautifully. You hear every instrument in your music. With these earphones it is really important that you set the quality to 'high' in Spotify.
We have used the Trueshift 2 with foam ear tips. Those ear tips replace the silicone sleeves that make contact with your ear. It's always interesting to see (or hear) the increase of sound quality when using different ear tips such as the foam ear tips that we have used.
When buying this TrueShift2 your sound is really good. Definitely above average. Hence our high rating. If you want just a little better sound (and note: the difference is minimal): you can read the SoundPEATS 3 SE review.
A lack of lows?
To be clear: the Incidentally, the earbuds do contain bass. The fact that the sound is so beautifully balanced and good mids, also means that the low tones are present just enough. All in all, the balanced sound of the TrueShifts2 ensures a very good music experience.
Microphone: can you make good calls with the TrueShift2?

The microphone of the TrueShift2 above average, but definitely not as good as the SoundPEATS Truengine 3 SE. And that doesn't mean that the mic of the TrueShift 2 is bad. In fact it's a result of the fact that the Truengine 3 SE sets he standards incredibly high. Because the mic of those earbuds are better than the majority of earphones of $ 150 or more.
While calling, they hear you clearly and clearly on the other end, but with a small echo. And when we write "an echo," we know you're probably thinking of Gaston yelling "great prrrrrijsn". but that is not the case. It is a miniscule echo that can be heard next to your clearly audible voice. You can compare it to someone who is on the phone in a bathroom.
Where the Truengine 3 SE has two separate openings to the microphone per earbud, the TrueShift2 only has 1. That was a difficult sentence with many songs. But the bottom line is that the more expensive Truengine 3 SE has less chance that your ear or finger will be in front of the hole of the microphone.

Controls of the earbuds
The SoundPEATS earbuds often have touch controls. No buttons. And that is also the case with the TrueShift2. And a little side note is that we were sure (after seeing the images of the Trueshift2 before buying and testing) we thought that there were buttons on the earbuds. That's what it looks like when you see the sides of the earbuds. But they are touch controls, no buttons.

The touch works surprisingly well. We have not experienced any lack of response when testing the touch control. So far so good.
A disadvantage is that you cannot decide which functions are configured under which touch control. For example, if I want to tap 3 times in order to play the next song, I can not. You will switch to the next song after touch and holding the right touch control. And yes, that works fine, but if you want to configure the controls yourself, try other earbuds.

We at Eardopes are a big fan of the user manual (believe it or not) of all SoundPEATS earphones. They are so detailed that you can find relevant information in the manual for each scenario. Also there are a lot of languages included. And in the end you will find a QR code with the digital manual. That's just great!
Factory reset SoundPEATS TrueShift2
We found out (partly because of that good user manual) how to reset the earbuds to the factory settings. A factory reset for the Truengine 3 SE is done in no time.
- Place the earbuds in the case
- Press both touch controls on the earbuds for 10 seconds
- The factory reset is now complete. You can pair again.
Charging case TrueShift2
Well, we just can't stop talking about this charging box. 3000 mAh of battery capacity. The charging case can be used as a power bank. In other words: it does not only charge your earbuds, it also chargs your phone if needed. All you have to do is insert the cable with the USB side into the charging box and place the USB-C in your phone. And if you have an iPhone, you can of course plug the lightning cable into your iPhone.
Battery: usage time
On average earphone manufacturers choose to add 400 to 500 mAh battery capacity to the charging case. So 3000 mAh really is admirable. And with those 3000 mAh you can listen to your earbuds for (be prepared) more then 100 hours. We like it!Battery capacity rating: 9,5
The Airoha AB1536U chipset allows the earphones to efficiently handle the electricity. And that results in a nice user life. Because of that you can use these earbuds for 6 hours straight before you have to place them back in the charging case.
How does the TrueShift2 fit in your ear?
The earbuds are slightly larger than the budget earphones from, for example, QCY.
You get 3 different soft rubber braces that prevent the earphones from falling out of your ear. See the above picture for the details. The rubbers have a kind of anchor that can be held in your ear. Those three different versions all have different sizes. Handy if you think it is important that earbuds clamp properly in your ears. It highly depends on your preferences if you like the rubber construction or not.
As far as we are concerned, it is a pity that SoundPEATS has not added one rubber without such a lever. There are probably people who would rather not want a lever.

The sound is nicely balanced. Low and high tones come out nicely, but the real power is in the mids. They really make the difference with most SoundPEATS earbuds. And so with the TrueShift2.
The microphone is good. You can have a great conversation by telephone with these earbuds. The microphone is not as good as the variant: SoundPEATS Truengine 3 SE. But that says more about the greatness of the 3 SE than about the TrueShift2 not being good. To be clear: the TrueShift 2 mic is still highly above average and a lot better then for example QCY earbuds.
The battery and runtime are absolutely great! You can listen to music for more than 100 hours with 1 full charging box without the need for a cable or charger. And that's cool! In addition, the charging box has a power bank function with which you can charge your phone.
The SoundPEATS TrueShift2 are wonderful earbuds in our opinion! The biggest pluses are the sound and the large battery. In terms of fit, the earphones do have to suit you.

Alternatives
SoundPEATS Truengine 3 SE vs. Trueshift2
The sound of the Truengine 3 SE is just better than that of the Trueshift2. But the difference is not big and is partly in the fitting. In short, sound wise it is neck and neck.
The Truengine 3 SE has AptX. The Trueshift2 does not. This ensures a more efficient transmission of the sound, so that earphones can offer better quality via the Bluetooth connection. And that is an advantage of the Truengine 3 SE.
De Trueshift2, however, have a lot more battery capacity:
