A technical check for your product: how it works

Your earbuds or another product bought from Eardopes will get a technical check. Here's how it works.
Technical check in 3 steps
Before sending it back: FAQs, contact and warranty claims
Haven't reported a fault to us yet? We can't run a technical check until you do. First, follow steps a, b and c:
a. Try our solutions first
b. Get in touch
Our standard solutions didn't help? Send us a message. We'll help you get your product working yourself. In fact, in 88% of cases, our practical tips get your product working again. That means you can get straight back to enjoying it.
c. Submit a warranty claim
Still not working? We'll send you a form to report the fault. Then we'll either arrange a shipment for you or send you a new product right away. Find out exactly how this works on the Eardopes warranty page.
1. Send your product back
Send your product back to us using the shipping label you receive from us by email.
- No shipping label yet?
First, follow the steps before sending your product back for a technical check. - Always include the return form in your package.
No return form? We won't be able to identify your product, so we can't accept your return.
2. Your product is tested
Once your product arrives, we test your earbuds, headphones or other product in our warehouse.
During a technical check, we thoroughly check that all your product's features work. We do this to assess any manufacturer's warranty claim. If there's a fault, we can report it to the manufacturer. If the product works properly, you can be 100% sure that the earbuds themselves are working as they should. In that case, we'll send your earbuds back to you.
During a technical check of earbuds or headphones, we test the following:
- Connection to 3 different devices: Android, iOS and a Windows laptop.
- Charging the charging case
- Charging the earbuds
- Music playback
- The microphone: we check that the mic input works properly
- The controls: we test the earbud commands
- And more
Of course, we focus on checking whether we can reproduce the fault you described.
3. A solution from Eardopes
After the technical check in step 2, we'll get in touch to let you know:
- The results of our check
- Our proposed solution
If your product works as it should and isn't eligible for a return, we'll send it back to the address used for your order.
Your product will be sent back to your home free of charge. There are no extra costs. If you paid to send it to us for the technical check and our check confirms a fault, you won't have to cover that shipping cost. Let us know if that's the case, and we'll refund the shipping charge.
How long does a technical check take?
A technical check of your product at Eardopes takes an average of 10 days. We aim to complete the full technical check within 7 business days.
A technical check involves a lot of work. We check whether the product works and try to reproduce every problem. We go through your case history to see whether the same fault occurs during our tests.
That's why it's important to follow our tips carefully beforehand. Usually, we can help you get your product working remotely. Often, a small detail is causing the problem. The repeated questions can sometimes be frustrating, but we ask because it's much easier for you if you don't have to send your earbuds or other product back at all.
More about technical checks
The sender always pays for shipping. So we pay to ship products to you. If you suspect a fault, you pay to send the product to us. We then pay to send it back to you. If we confirm a fault, you're entitled to a refund of the shipping charge.
