Galaxy Buds Pro falling out - solved

Your Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro keep falling out of your ears. And it happens more often than with other earbuds. It's frustrating: they could break, which could easily cost you more than €100. But there is a solution. Here's how to get your Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro to stay in your ears.

Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro won't stay in

We've never had as many questions about earbuds falling out as we have with the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro.

You put them in your ears and out they pop! They fall out as soon as you take your first step. We tested the Samsung Galaxy Buds and weren't happy with the fit either.

Buds Pro don't fit

In short: the Samsung Buds Pro earbuds don't fit your ears properly. That's a shame, because they're good earbuds otherwise. Our in-depth review showed that too. But the poor fit, which means the Buds Pro won't sit properly or stay in, is a letdown.

Luckily, you can fix it.

The cause: ear tips & fit

We took a close look at what's causing this problem. Why do the Samsung Buds Pro keep falling out?

The problem is the ear tips. These are the rubber or silicone pieces on the earbuds that go into your ears. Their shape needs to give them a secure fit in your ears. After all, they're the only point of contact with your ears. Each earbud needs enough grip at that point.

And that's exactly the problem. The ear tips included with the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro aren't good.

They're far too narrow. That means they simply can't fit securely in your ear canals. Be honest: as soon as you put them in, you can feel that they're uncomfortable.

I don't understand why Samsung chose these ear tips. This photo gives you a good look at them:

And here are the earbuds from every angle:

Compare the ear tips with these SoundPEATS H1 earbuds:

Or compare them with these Jabra earbuds:

Those have much wider ear tips that fit better and are less likely to fall out.

The solution: replace the ear tips

So something needs to change with the ear tips. Have you tried fitting the included Large ear tips to your earbuds? They might help.

Samsung includes 3 different ear tip sizes with the earbuds you bought.

But that usually doesn't help: none of the included ear tip sizes stay in your ears.

Then the only solution is to buy foam ear tips.

Just make sure you buy foam ear tips made specifically for the Samsung Buds Pro. The opening where the sound comes through has a different shape from the opening on other earbuds.

So the foam ear tips must be made specifically and exclusively for the Samsung Buds Pro.

The foam ear tip itself is also much wider than the standard Samsung Buds Pro ear tips.

The foam ear tips solve the problem of the Buds Pro falling out.

You also won't get discomfort from wearing the earbuds for longer periods, unlike with the standard ear tips included.

I used the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro for 3 weeks on a trip to Colombia, and the foam ear tips really helped. I could wear them longer without irritation. They stopped falling out, and the noise canceling still worked well.

Here's a snapshot of me using the foam ear tips and Buds Pro in the airplane bathroom :D.
